Bar stools...

So I've had my bar up for quite awhile down in my basement and kept thinking it needs to look a little more bar like, maybe with chairs.  I started off and got the HAPPY HOUR sign off of ART.com/ and so that was my first step to dress up my bar.  I then was having this thought of what kind of chairs/stools I wanted.  I was looking around at all the chairs out there and of course they were all quite pricey.  Well then that gave me the idea to look on good 'ole CRAIGSLIST for some decent priced chairs.  I luckily came across 2 black stools and HAD TO GET 'EM!!!  The bonus was that they weren't expensive what so ever.  Maybe $20 for both if I remember right.  After awhile I got sick of walking past some plain boring black stools so I was thinking of what I could do to them to incorporate my "SPORTS BAR" theme with my Broncos and Rockies stuff that is already up on the walls.  I went around to the fabric stores to find some fabric of the teams to put on them and that was not successful and so of course I couldn't think of a better place than EBAY to find some fabric of the teams.  Got rich with those findings!!!  Got the fabric and so my "SPORTS BAR" endevour began...

Beginning of my bar once I got the sign...

The stools were bought as black stools but they both needed some touch ups on the paint.
I went and got some black spray paint and doctored 'em up to be like this...

Went and got some Matte MOD PODGE and put it on for the fabric to be put on the stools...

The beginning of the Rockies stool...

Beginning of the Broncos stool...

I decided to put more MOD PODGE on but the glossy kind this time...

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY MOMMY...

MY friend asked me to watch her kids as she went to a single moms event through our church. I couldn't say no 'cause she has the sweetest little boys that I always have fun with. Valentine's Day is right around the corner so of course I had the thought that the boys should make their mom a cute little Valentine. I went searching through the house for any sort of crafty stuff they had and found some giggily eyes. I came across this owl Valentine idea and used it with them. It's an owl on each with two different sayings 'cause I felt they couldn't have the same saying but just decorate it differently. I drew the owl and wrote the sayings that I came up with, although I'm sure they're said out there somewhere, and the boys colored their own then we signed it with their names together.
The older brother's, Brendan- 3, Valentine said "OWL always love you! Love, Brendan".
And the little brother's, Justin- 1, Valentine said "OWL love you forever! Love, Justin".
I think their mom's heart is gonna melt when she comes home and sees them because they turned out to be so cute!

BIG AIR 2011

Denver was chosen to host the international ski and snowboard BIG AIR competition in downtown Denver. It was held in Civic Center park. The park is between the capital and Civic Center building litterally in downtown Denver. I heard about it coming to town and was like "HMM, I think I want to go". I drove passed where it was gonna be on may way some where a few weeks before it started while they were setting up for it and just knew there was no reason for me not to go. So the first night of it, on a tuesday, was skiing. I had no plans that night so ended up going to downtown Denver by myself to watch them do the ski jumps. I definately did not feel the need to fork out big bucks for a ticket so I watched it on the side where it was free. The jumps the skiiers did were amazing and I was just like "holy cow, there's NOO way I would ever try that!" During the show there was a concert and that was way fun too. The band for the first night was Switchfoot. When I heard the band was gonna be there I got SOOO excited 'cause I do quite love that band and I got myself a free concert. There were SOOO many people there and I went by myself and didn't feel like a dork or anything 'cause I figured I wouldn't run into anyone I knew since there were so many people there and I didn't see anyone I knew. I just didn't care that I was by myself because I had fun either way!!!
The next night were the snowboarders doing their jumps. This night was much more fun 'cause I had a better view of the ramp they went down. I heard that a friend had extra tickets for a better view so I definately hit him up on that one so I could go again and see the snowboarders since I saw the skiiers the previous night. It was another night of jaw dropping thoughts of "I couldn't do that." The jumps they all did were insane. There was another concert for the night of another band I LOVE- One Rebublic. I went and met my friend there and enjoyed it with him and his girlfriend, for a little bit. Well I suppose they didn't enjoy it as much as I did and left early into it. I was enjoying it far too much to leave and figured I'd be fine since I was there by myself the night before. I had another great night of watching winter sports get some air and it was another insane night of AHH. I will totally go see it all again if it comes back to Denver in the future!!!

Mid-air snowboarding shot...

This is a WOW jump with the boarder up so high...

Here's the side view I had of the ramp the skiiers and boarders "flew" down for the first night!!!

There had to be some intermission in between with some people out with their skiis to groom up the hill since it got dug into with the falls and landings with the boards and skiis.

Snowboarder with AMAZING view and jump...

Skiier's jump from the side view I had of the 1st night with skiiers...

Annual Ornament & Cookie Exchange

Yeah this is a late posting since my Christmas exchange happened on December, 18th...

It is that time of year again for my annual hosting of the ornament & cookie exchange.  It's always super fun to get into the spirit of the holidays and have friends come over to exchange cookies and ornaments with each other.

My kitchen with everyhing to get ready for the party: cookie making instruments every where, cookies every where, and even a CANDY BAR to mix goodie bags to take home with you!!!

Here are the little Nutter Butter snowmen I made for the exchange.
The "mom" and "dad" ones look different 'cause they're actually melted
Nutter Butter's by accident but I decided to use them anyways instead of waste 'em.
I even put some Bronco snowmen in there with the blue & orange buttons.
Had to keep some NFL spirit in there with my Broncos!!!

The first Oreo popsicle cookies I've made.  I've had them before and boy are they DELICIOUS!!!
I decided to make them into some snow flake Oreo popsicle cookies.

All the cookies that everyone got to choose from...

Here are ALL the left overs from the cookies that were left behind.
Oh what to do with them all...
I decided I didn't want any of the left overs so I put them all together
in bags and drove down to downtown Denver and gave
the bags away to many of the homeless people I saw for a
Merry Christmas treat.

Snowed in!!!

All I can say is that I was SO excited when we got this much snow. My back porch was completely covered in it. It's a good thing I didn't need anything back there so I didn't have to walk through the mound of it but good enough to just know it's there. I LOVE me some Colorado winters when we get dumped with it. With Colorado's weather, it isn't winter to me unless there's snow. Yeah it could be weird but I do LOVE LOVE LOVE snow!!!

Baby Shower invitations...

I'm hosting another baby shower in my near future for my sister and so I once again decided to make some home made baby shower invitations. I had some girl left overs but they weren't needed 'cause it's a boy this time. I might be being a little bias and proud but I think they turned out to be pretty cute for my sister's baby shower that me and a few others are throwing her for the fun and games pre-baby celebration for my nephew. I have some ideas for the actual shower and those will be posted when it's done and over with.

Babysitting gift

I LOVE having friends that ask me to watch their kids and give me Christmas presents since I do. One of my friends, that I met at My Gym 5 years ago when her daughter was a baby and the boy I nannied for were in the same class, asked if I am able to pick her kids up from school three days a week. It worked out for both of us that I am able to do that for her. The kids are on winter break so she asked if I can watch them all day for 4 days on the 1st week and so I did. We of course had fun through the week. On the last day of the week she gave me a little Christmas present for the work I do for her. That's so nice! I had about 5 scents to choose from to go with the Scentsy wall plug and chose Sweet Pea. My house is gonna smell good!!!
