Costa Rica

I finally got my first stamp on my passport. WOOHOO!!!
The Costa Rica trip was a good one. I went there with one of my little brothers and my Aunt and stayed at my Uncle's house. We flew into San Jose and had a 4 1/2 to 5 hour drive from the airport to Tamarindo. The country is quite pretty with lots and lots of green. We got a shuttle to take us there and we had a stop along the way and got to see a toucan. It was really pretty and fun to see one in the wild and not at the zoo. The roads there are really bumpy with lots of pot holes. On the way to my Uncle's I was taking pictures with my camera. I got a few along the way. We got to my Uncle's and I looked all around the shuttle, on the seat and the floor, to make sure I didn't forget anything. Next thing I know I go to get my camera and it was missing. I apparently lost it in the shuttle some how and ended up not having my camera the whole week to take pictures with. I guess I didn't look good enough. My phone luckily came with a camera and that's how I got the pictures. PHEW!!!
We all had a good time at my Uncle's house. He was a good host and he made some really good meals for us. My Aunt and I would walk down to the beach every night to see the sunset. Every night was a pretty one. My Uncle only lives about 5 minutes away from the beach so it was a simple walk to get there. The city was really cute and of course had lots of touristy shops. Pedro is my Uncle's friend and we always went and saw him at his store. That store had some good stuff and I of course came home with some of it.
So when we would watch tv, the news would come on. Well it wasn't the Costa Rican news, it was Denver news. How weird is that!!! I'm on vacation in a far away place but still got my Denver news. Ironic!
While we were there we did two REALLY fun things. We went zip-lining through the trees by the volcano. It was SO much fun and I couldn't stop myself from screaming while doing it. It wasn't too scary but maybe a little but I also so want to go do it again. After that we went to a Costa Rican Rodeo. That was way fun because I've never been to one before.
All in all the vacation was fun.

Here's the cute LITTLE car we rented.

It looks small but fit all four of us.

Here's my Uncle's adobe. It's really cute

and I slept in the bed up in the loft.

This is the patio with the two really

comfortable hammocks.

Pedro's enjoying the wonderful ocean!

Andrew and I had a good time

at the rodeo. It was both our 1st time.

Andrew's really enjoying his "STREET MEAT"!

Me, Andrew, Aunt Jody & Uncle Mike

are SO ready for the zip-linning adventure.

This is my Uncle's friend Pedro.

He works at the tourist store that I got

some good stuff from.

Andrew's enjoying makin' a sand castle.

Here's the howler monkey.

Pretty cute little monkey's right

off my Uncle's patio.

They make some funky noices.

There were LOTS of different and pretty
flowers around everywhere!

Here's one of the grocery stores we went to.

I didn't really think that Costa Rica

had big houses like this.

Here's the Rodeo and that bull is ready to charge!

These are my Uncle's cats:
Betty, Gill & Marty.
This little iguana decided to come say hello to us

on the patio.

Man this is one funky tree!!!

This sign was REALLY funny to us

and so we went there and did have

some really big, and yummy, nachos :)

This is the cute downtown of

Tamarindo, Costa Rica.

Here's Lake Arenal.

This is the Volcano right at Lake Arenal.

Costa Rica has some really pretty sunsets!!!

San Diego

I had fun in San Diego, where my cousin lives. He lives right in down town so that was good. There's something about California that lets it have frozen yogurt. It is just quite delicious and boy do I wish that Colorado would join in that yummy food stuff. I've looked for it but can't find it here. I would always take his dog out for walks around the city and I'm sure Kodie liked that so he could get out of the house every once in awhile. I just LOVE that dog!

This is the view from my cousin's balcony

where you can see the bridge to get over

to Coronado. Cute place!!!

Here's Petco Park where the San Diego Padres play ball!!!
