Getting old!

I just had my 26th birthday. Oh boy, I'm aging!!! I had a good birthday and celebrated with my girlfriends twice.

Celebration number one: My birthday was during the week so we celebrated the weekend before my day of birth. I had this idea for me and a few girlfriends to go to dinner then go bowling then go downtown. I haven't been bowling in awhile so I figured this would be fun for my birthday. The girls went along with it and had fun as well.

Celebration number two: My Rockies were in town on my birthday and it was a day game so I wanted to go. Me and two other friends made it an outing for the day. They played the Arizona Diamondbacks. It was a very fun day to be there on my birthday! The game was good but the weather was oh so HOT!!! The Rockies ended up winning so I'm pretty sure I brought a lucky charm with me for that to happen (HEHE!) :) I had this idea to make a poster and bring it to the game with me. I saw this somewhere and was thinking, I'm gonna make one of those some day. I was asked by one of the worker girls if I wanted to win $50 by answering a guestion. I of course said yes. I was just hoping that the question wouldn't be too hard and that I would get it right to get the money. It wasn't too hard of a question and so I got the answer right and won myself $50 from the Rockies! WAHOO!!! After the game I got a phone call from a girlfriend and was told that I need to go out with her for my birthday. I couldn't say no and was excited to have some fun that night. We went out downtown with some girlfriends and we all had a great time! She's friends with a couple of the Rockies players so we "partied" with them and that was fun fun fun! I really had myself a GREAT birthday and love all my girlfriends!

Here's the sign I made!!!

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!

TAKE ME OUT

TO THE

BALL FIELD

WITH

SPILBORGHS

I got onto the JUMBOTRON at the game so I'm sure the players saw me too!!! The question for $50 was: What doesn't need to be caulked? A- windows B-coffee mug C- doors

One of my favorite players! Batter batter up!

Rockies win vs. Diamonbacks 4-3!

Gotta Love me some Dinger!

Recovery

Three years ago on this day became a day I will never forget, along with others.
Here's the low down of my recovery-
It was a GREAT day in CO on July 6, 2006 and so I was at the zoo with the two little boys I was nannying for. (What an amazing job to have!) We were on our way home from having such a fun day at the Denver zoo. I had just got onto the freeway and ended up in the middle lane with a semi truck, that was driven by a drunk driver, to the left of me. I can guess that about 5 or so minutes after I got on, I was hit HARD from the semi. The truck did not use it's blinker to let me know it was coming in my lane and so I had NO control. I was hit really hard and the wheel smashed me, way hard. It hit me only on my door, luckily not one of the boys' doors, like REALLY hard. It made me get shaking and hit a lot and lots of glass into my body from broken windows. This means that I got to the hospital in a coma and set up with a tracheostomy to control my breathing. I was then taken, right away, to get brain surgery that I needed SO much. The coma ended up staying for two and half weeks and I woke up from it on my 23rd birthday. At this time I was "living" in three different hospitals but got to go home right before Thanksgiving. That's something to be thankful for!
I'm at this point in my life, since 3 years ago, where the time keeps taking FOREVER for this recovery process I'm in. There are two things that my brain and body are unable to do and I hate that part. I need a change up in things, to have them work how I want them to. Patience is a virtue but it's a thin line right now. It should get better soon, like I hope for.At this point I am now able to drive in a car all by myself. I can only drive during the day and not at night. That doesn't make too much sence to me but at least I can drive a little bit more. It feels SO wonderful to drive in a car all by myself when I need to or want to get something done and go somewhere. At this point I am still not working. I still don't even know why I can't from doctors orders. I understand the point that I shouldn't, due to my settlement. I just want to get out and live my life like a normal adult. My settlement is ending pretty soon. Once that is done and over with I will feel alot better. Let's just all hope that it all ends up being very positive for me! All I want is to have a normal life because I haven't had one for the past three years. I always try to be possitive about everything but just like every other person I have some off days that sometimes aren't the greatest. I certainly know that it will get better soon but it's just like a time bomb sometimes. I am just thankful at where I am right now because it could be tons worse and I just need to be kept on the positive side of things.

Key West

Virgie and Dacia have this time-share thing and we used it in Key West, FL. I have been to one of the keys, Islamorada, but not Key West. Luckily the weather was good the whole time we were down there. It was sunny and nice and therefore I got a great tan! Most of the time we were down at the beach. The Atlantic Ocean is much better than the Pacific Ocean and it was pleasantly warm. We went on a glass bottom boat and went snorkeling in the 3rd largest coral reef. When we were out on the boat we saw lots of dolphins jump in and out of the water. During my snorkeling adventure I swallowed way too much water! Other than that I had a good time doing it. You can't leave the Keys without having some key-lime pie. That was yummy! We all had a great time.

California LOVIN!!!

I had this thought about Easter a few months ago. For the fun of it I figured why not go to Caifornia and have Easter with my mom and brothers. After that thought I had the thought why not do it for the a month long. That's a long time but why not do it. I ended up getting my ticket and yes it was for a whole month long. My vacation was good. I had a good time with my family and even squessed in time with a friend. I ended up staying with plenty of family. It started off with my mom then my Grandma, then my dear Aunt Jody, then my grandma some more, then my mom some more, then my other Aunt and cousins, then my mom some more then my Grandma some more. I guess you could call me the traveling nut. I had a good time there in California. I saw the ocean and some more!!!

From my cousin's background, you can see Petco Park
in San Diego which is where the Padres play.
I'd like that as my back yard!!!
I have never seen anyone do this new water sport before.
I kept seeing people stand on surfboards and paddle through the water.
Pretty funny. Maybe I'll try it someday?!

Happy Quarter of a Century Birthday to Kelly!!!

I had a good date with Grandma and Grandpa
for my last day in California.

Grandma and I had some good lunch dates right
on the ocean. That was fun to do!

Wine Please!!!

Grandma, Uncle Mike and I went to this really cute
Danish town and they were having an old auto show as we were there.
It was fun to see all the old cars. I'll have that one please!

My little brother Josh was having baseball games as I was in town.
They were fun to go to and cheer on my little bro!

Christian was having some fun rolling around
in his roller blades.

Andrew's the new karate kid and
I hope that he doesn't try and get me!!!

Zach's a new karate kid...watch out!!!

I went and stayed the night with my cousin
Megan. I had a wonderful time because I
haven't seen her in far too many years!

Sleepy little Angelina is so precious and cute.
Megan has one ham of a baby!!!
I was SO happy to see my dear friend Jon on my vacation.
We had a great day out and about Laguna Beach!!!

Dinner date time for my last California day with
Grandma and Grandpa. Had a great dinner date!

Terrell Owens, from the Buffalo Bills, paid
a visit to LAX while I was there. I got a little
star struck but not too much. I could've and
maybe should've tried to talk to him and get
his autograph.

NFL star is SO popular that the paparazzi were at the airport to get
pictures and video of Terrell Owens. That was
fun to see because I've never seen paparazzi before.
I had to sign a piece of paper if I didn't want
my picture covered to see me so I did it.

I ended up staying the night at LAX's arrival
area to wait for a friend to get there. I thought
I was gonna have to just sit in a chair all night
but ended up seeing some other people sleep there
as well and so they gave me the idea of sleeping
on the floor.

This was my bed for the night which worked
out good.

Bad decision?

So I made a decision and might regret it just a little. I kinda got a little syked for the opporunity to be on a reality show just for the fun of it. Well here's the kicker: I was told that I'll be flown out May 3-5 and have an interview with the producers. Well on May 3 we are having a graduation party for my brother's high school graduation. I felt as though I couldn't miss that and that it would be more important for me to be there to congratulate him for the work he's done. So then the other part is the taping part. The taping part is May 22 through June 12 (3 weeks). During this time, my family is taking this BIG family vacation to Key West. This is a vacation that we really have never done before and kind've a going away vaca because my brother Adam is heading to the Army in July. The vacation is June 6 through the 14th. During that week is some of the taping of the show. My problem was deciding if the vacation to Key West or the show is more important. I decisided to do the vacation and not the show. I am thinking back about it and don't know what to do or think about the decision I made. Did I make a good decision and could it be re-done?
